Fiona and Kayla's Ride the North 2026 for Life After Lary

Kayla and Fiona are fund raising for a small charity called Life After Lary who have supported Kenny, a family member whose life has been impacted by removal of his voice box because of cancer. Life After Lary was created by people who live with a laryngectomy, for people who live with a laryngectomy. A laryngectomy is surgery to remove the larynx (voice box), usually for advanced throat cancer, resulting in breathing through a permanent neck opening (stoma) and a change in voice, though patients learn new ways to speak

Founded in July 2023 originally as an online support group dedicated to helping people affected by laryngeal cancer and a total laryngectomy. The charity has a valued network of supporters from volunteers, patients and their loved ones, to leading doctors, medical professionals, and other charities who have helped us to help individuals.
